The Crafty Wren is always happy to hear from yarn brands, hook and notion makers, pattern designers, craft fairs, and fellow fiber-arts creators who think there could be a good fit here. This page explains what kinds of collaborations we welcome, how we handle sponsored content and gifted products, and the best way to reach us with a proposal.

Who We Work With

Our readers come to this site for real, tested crochet content — amigurumi patterns, blanket designs, wearable projects, and technique guides for every skill level. Because of that, we only partner with brands and creators whose products or ideas genuinely serve that audience. We are especially interested in hearing from:

  • Yarn companies (natural fibers, blends, novelty and specialty yarns)
  • Hook, notion, and stitch-marker makers
  • Independent pattern designers looking for a feature or a guest tutorial
  • Craft subscription boxes and kit companies
  • Fiber festivals, craft fairs, and online yarn events
  • Photographers or illustrators whose work suits a handmade, cozy aesthetic

If you are unsure whether your product or idea fits our niche, take a look at our About Us page to get a better sense of our voice, our audience, and what we actually stand for as a site.

Collaboration Types We Consider

We keep things flexible, but most partnerships fall into one of these categories:

Product Reviews and Features

We can test a yarn, hook set, or notion in a real project and share honest impressions — texture, drape, stitch definition, ease of use, and value for money. We do not publish reviews we have not actually tried ourselves.

Sponsored Patterns or Tutorials

If a brand wants a custom pattern built around their yarn or kit, we can design and write one, with full credit and links back to the brand as agreed.

Affiliate and Referral Partnerships

For ongoing relationships, we sometimes use affiliate links within relevant posts. Any such arrangement is handled transparently and in line with our Affiliate Disclaimer.

Giveaways and Community Features

Yarn and notion giveaways tend to do very well with our readers, and we are open to running these for brands whose products match our content style.

Content Standards We Hold To

Every collaboration, sponsored or not, is written to the same standard as our regular posts. That means:

  • Patterns and techniques are tested by hand before publishing — we do not describe a stitch we have not actually crocheted.
  • Product opinions are our own, even in sponsored posts. We will always tell a brand honestly if something did not work well for us before publishing anything negative-leaning.
  • Any paid placement, gifted product, or affiliate relationship is clearly disclosed to readers, in keeping with our Disclosure page and general Editorial Policy.
  • We do not accept collaborations that ask us to misrepresent a product, hide a paid relationship, or publish content unrelated to crochet, amigurumi, or the broader fiber-craft world.

These standards exist to protect the trust our readers have placed in us, and they are non-negotiable regardless of budget or brand size.

What to Include in a Proposal

To help us respond quickly and give you a useful answer, please include the following when you reach out:

  • A short description of your brand, product, or project
  • What kind of collaboration you are imagining (review, sponsored pattern, giveaway, guest feature, etc.)
  • Links to your website, shop, or social channels
  • Any timeline or deadline you are working with
  • Whether the collaboration involves payment, gifted product, or both

We read every proposal ourselves, so a clear, specific pitch (rather than a generic mass email) always gets the best response.

How to Reach Us

The fastest way to start a conversation is by emailing us directly at [email protected] with "Collaboration" in the subject line. You are also welcome to use our Contact page if you prefer a form, or if your question is more general before you put together a full proposal.

We try to respond to every serious inquiry within a few business days, though busy seasons like the holidays may slow things down a little. If you do not hear back within two weeks, feel free to follow up — emails do occasionally get buried.

A Few Things to Know Before You Pitch

We are a small, independent site, and we intend to keep it that way. We turn down far more collaborations than we accept, not because ideas are bad, but because our readers come first and our content needs to stay useful, honest, and true to the crochet niche. For a full picture of how we operate the site and make editorial decisions, our Editorial Policy and Community Guidelines are worth a look before you send anything over. We are genuinely excited to hear fresh ideas — we just want every partnership to feel like a natural fit for the people who read The Crafty Wren.
